Our website hopes to provide an insight into the everyday life of our school, including the wonderful and unique opportunities that are afforded to the children of Scoil Chroí Íosa. The website also contains lots of valuable information for parents and those in the wider community.

 Scoil Chroí Íosa is a provider of high-quality education to students from Blarney and its surrounding area. 

As a professional body of teachers, the staff are committed to working in partnership with parents to ensure every child reaches their full potential in a happy and stimulating learning environment. The school aims to promote full and harmonious development of all aspects of the child. We foster a love of learning, working to the best of one’s ability and developing a sense of respect and responsibility amongst our pupils.

With the above in mind, I am always extremely grateful to the hard work and goodwill of our Parents, Pupils, Teachers, SNAs, Secretaries & Caretaker, as well as our Parents Association, Board of Management and the wider community of Blarney; all of whom help make Scoil Chroí Íosa the unique, warm and welcoming school that it is.

Egg-citing things are happening in 2nd Class. They have begun their chick hatching project. The research and investigating is underway. The eggs are warming in the incubator and they are hoping that baby chicks will hatch in 3 weeks time. They are very egg-cited! 🐣🐣

Senior Infants and 1st Class enjoyed World Book Day dressed as their favourite book characters.
The student council are activity promoting kindness as part of our anti-bulling campaign in our school yard. They designed eye catching posters to raise awareness and educate their peers.
The 4th and 5th multigrade hosted a pancakes and board games afternoon on Tuesday to celebrate Pancake Tuesday for all the classes in the senior building. Great fun and food was had by all! 🥞
Huge congratulations to Rang a Sé, who made their confirmation today. Well done to all involved on a beautiful ceremony and a very big thank you to everyone involved in helping the children prepare for their special day ❤️

6th class enjoyed their pre confirmation breakfast this morning 🥞 We’d like to wish them the best of luck tomorrow at their confirmation! They have worked very hard in preparation for their special day!

Well done to all of our gifted performers who took part in the SMGS Talent Show last night. We are incredibly proud of all of their hard work, bravery and energy. Special congratulations to Sophie who took First Place on the night with her breath taking singing performance.
Here are 2nd class, our ‘Lunchtime Pals’, They help to organise games and activities in the school yard, that will promote the pupils’ wellbeing, fundamental movement skills, social skills, inclusion, anti - bullying and pupil’s voice.  We also aim to try and further support pupils, with additional needs, in our school yard. Here the children are today, enjoying the skipping elastics, playground games, snakes and ladders, chalk games, ball games, Connect 4, Jenga and hula hoop games.
A big congratulations to the boys and girls of 2nd Class on receiving their First Confession today.

4th & 4th/5th class enjoyed a trip around their locality recently. They examined a historical map of Blarney Village, the old Railway & Blarney Castle gardens.
Happy children from Scoil Chroí Íosa setting off for school in a “walking bus” in support of the school’s Walk On Wednesday initiative. The school encourages everyone to improve their travel habits as part of the Green Schools Project. Walking, scooting, cycling, park n stride and car pooling are all promoted, as better travel habits benefit the environment as well as personal wellbeing. Maith sibh a pháistí 👏
