Our website hopes to provide an insight into the everyday life of our school, including the wonderful and unique opportunities that are afforded to the children of Scoil Chroí Íosa. The website also contains lots of valuable information for parents and those in the wider community.

 Scoil Chroí Íosa is a provider of high-quality education to students from Blarney and its surrounding area. 

As a professional body of teachers, the staff are committed to working in partnership with parents to ensure every child reaches their full potential in a happy and stimulating learning environment. The school aims to promote full and harmonious development of all aspects of the child. We foster a love of learning, working to the best of one’s ability and developing a sense of respect and responsibility amongst our pupils.

With the above in mind, I am always extremely grateful to the hard work and goodwill of our Parents, Pupils, Teachers, SNAs, Secretaries & Caretaker, as well as our Parents Association, Board of Management and the wider community of Blarney; all of whom help make Scoil Chroí Íosa the unique, warm and welcoming school that it is.

Rang a Sé enjoyed some down time in Blarney Castle yesterday. After a very busy term it was lovely to enjoy the crisp morning air and spend time with each other having fun on a lively Christmas stroll 🎄⛄️🎄⛄️
Rang a Sé had a wonderful time singing Christmas Carols last night at the switching on of the Christmas lights in the square! 🎄 🎄 ⛄️
Rang a Sé really enjoyed their visit to the Church of the Resurrection, where they each hung their hand made Christmas decorations on the Community Christmas Tree. The classes made decorations following the theme “while shepherds watched their flocks by night”. 🐑 🌲

Scoil Chroi Íosa Christmas Lotto! Get into the festive spirit and support Scoil Chroi Iosa with our Christmas Lotto. This year, you could be one of the lucky winners of €250, €100, or €50. Junior Infants participated in activities that accompany the story “A Squash and A Squeeze”. The children placed the characters into the house in turn when their character was mentioned in the story. They used the characters afterwards to revise height.
Science week in Ms Dennehy’s Rang a Sé was a busy one. The children researched and chose a science experiment for their group and carried it out for their class, peer-led learning and collaboration at the helm of a collaborative and engaging science lesson for all.
6th class put their engineering minds to work today with spaghetti and marshmallows! 🧩 From wobbly towers to sturdy structures, it was all about experimenting, collaborating, and learning through trial and error. Impressed by their teamwork and creativity! 💡
Senior Infants and 1st Class enjoyed being Archaeologists today. They searched for items from the past and built their hidden treasures piece by piece.
Cracking into science! 🥚🔬 Another busy day in 6th class! Today,we explored density with the classic egg experiment. By adding salt to water, we discovered how an egg can float or sink depending on the density of the solution. Science really eggs-plains it all! 🥚 🧬

Turning geography lessons into tasty treats! 6th class made butter after learning about farming and its journey to technology. A fun way to connect the past and future! 🧈🚜
Hands On Maths! 2nd Class children working on tens and units using notation boards and counters. We like getting away from pencil and paper to really develop strong maths concepts and true understanding in the minds of the children 💡

Just before our first birthday, we’d like to wish a HUGE congratulations to our FIRST lotto JACKPOT winner Martina Linehan pictured with her son Ekain, Our principal Mr Foley and Liz, fundraising committee member.
